Weigh in 26/01/2012

I maintained this week which was really unexpected as I had been good with food and upped my water intake (1.5 litres a day) I had also done plenty of walking (at least 21 miles) so I am not sure what has gone wrong.

So the plan for this week is to continue with the good food intake and also continue to drink plenty of water and to continue with my walking. From Thursday I have nine days off work and I plan to get on my bike unless we have ice or snow, if the bike is not possible then the Just Dance workouts will resume.

I had been toying with the idea of joining a gym but it seems a lot of money to spend when I have a bike, my legs and the outdoors.

I am also going to give this local initiative a call to see if they can help me with the exercise part of losing weight. I do struggle with motivation for this as I really hate doing it and am also concerned of people pointing and laughing, which I know shouldn't bother me because really most of the time this is an insecurity in my own mind and no one else even notices me, I ain't that special!!! I did sign up to the initiative before but what they offered me a lot of psychological work which I felt didn't benefit me so hopefully this time I will be able to get something more suited to me, plus I am more motivated to reach my goals this time. Does you locla area have any initiatives? If so have you tried them? What did you think?

Walking

My exercise of choice is walking and ever since doing Weightlossfordudes Lifestyle Change Challenge over the summer I have stuck to walking and tried to get out when I can to interesting places that are local. I love walking because:

  1. I can be outdoors
  2. It's free
  3. I lose more weight when walking
  4. I can do it at work
  5. I get to take pretty pictures and videos
On Friday I completed a 3.4 mile walk at my favourite local beauty spot whilst in the visitors centre I spied the Health Walks Series leaflets

I was excited as it will give me more local places to go walking. I picked up number 1 and 4 and have emailed the council to see if they can send me the rest of the series.

Each leaflet contains two walks with a map, route description, pictures, distances and how much time they think you may need. Below are more pictures.

I am hoping the council still have these in print but at least I have four walks that I can do which will allow me to do more exploring of the area I live in.

Weigh in update 31/08/2011

I lost 2lbs this week :-) I'm really happy with that as it now means I have lost 3 stone 8lbs which is 50lbs!

I had a good week with exercise but not so great with food. I had a binge on Monday which consisted of 4 Shapers Strawberry Nougat bars, 16 syns in total. The rest of the week food was good and I have to say I am really enjoying my food a lot recently and I think that can account for the good losses I have had too.

Another factor in my good losses recently is the exercise, if you know me from You Tube you will know that I have been taking part in the Lifestyle Change Challenge which finishes this week after 6 weeks,I have loved doing and will continue with my walking and Just Dance 2. I'm really getting into walking and am hoping to walk up Rivington Pike in the next couple of months.

New things for my walks

I have been taking part in Weightlossfordudes Lifestyle Change Challenge for four weeks now and I'm loving the exercising but haven't really got the right clothes so I picked up a hoody from Yours Clothing as it's been colder here for the past week and with Autumn and Winter coming up it will good for my walking then, it's also long enough to wear with my leggings so no more too short jogging bottoms that I have been wearing. And the best bit is that it's a size 22-24 and I was a size 30 in most things in January!!

The second thing I got was from the pound shop, I think I buy about 90%of my things from bargain shops I love them :)

So I wanted a small backpack to carry a bottle of water, my ipod, phone and car keys. It's really handy and lightweight so will be perfect for storing the few things I need I just hope it lasts a while and doesn't break on the first outing.

Exercise, my week and other ramblings

I have had a really bad few days with eating and have really binged so I am really dreading weigh-in this week, in fact, if I went to a group I wouldn't be going. I had a very binge filled Saturday and a slightly better Sunday and Monday, today I have done well but I fear not enough to undo my weekend damage.

So, I gave in and did some  proper exercise! I did 30 minutes on Just Dance 2 and got a proper sweat on. I felt energised so I woke up my boyfriend and we went swimming. After recovering from the shock of it costing £3.40 to go swimming I did 20 lengths which is 500 metres. I can't remember the last time I went swimming so I was pretty chuffed with my 20 lengths. I am going to try and go once a week and improve on my lengths each time. I a a pretty slow swimmer and sometimes it felt like I wasn't moving at all.

Please visit my competition blog post http://flab2fab82.blogspot.com/2011/03/first-ever-blog-competition-win-20.html to win a £20 gift voucher. This is now open to everyone not just those in the UK. The kind people at CSN said they would convert the £20 into other currencies.

I am cooking for my friend and sister tomorrow night and I've decided to do chicken wrapped in bacon with a bbq sauce, topped with cheese and I will serve it with salad and wedges. They both want to lose some weight and I am going to give them the information for Slimming World, they both only have a small amount to lose compared to me, probably about 21lbs. If they decide to do the diet I am going to see if they would like to contribute to my blog and my youtube channel.

Speaking of youtube I now have 58 subscribers which is more than I could have hoped for, the people in the weightloss community are fabulous and have given me so much support and the best thing is it's free. However, I don't like the feeling of letting people down who have given me so much support since January but I really feel I needed the binge over the weekend and a mini breakdown to put things into perspective and remember what I am doing this for, my boyfriend was really great at my mini breakdown and for the first time said he was proud of what I've lost so far and he knows I can do it.
