Weightloss Update

Well this will be my weightloss update. By the time I'd done a weigh in last week (Saturday) I'd put on 5lbs as opposed to the 3lbs I mentioned in my Struggling post.

I've weighed myself this morning and I've lost 3lbs. So that's 23lbs in total since January. I'm so happy with this as I went out for a meal with my friends last night which is not the smartest idea I had but I had a great time and lovely catch up. I shared a starter platter with my friends, then had smoked haddock florentine and shared a chocolate cake. So losing the 3lbs is a good achievement. I need to learn to not eat out the night before weigh in.

I think the loss this week is mainly due to eating plenty of grapes and drinking lots of water. I have also made a big effort to keep my snacking down.

So next hurdle is the Easter weekend, unfortunately I am working over Easter :( However I am off Good Friday so will be having a fish dinner at my Mum and Dad's. There is no batter on the fish just a light dusting of flour and I will have potatoes instead of chips with peas, cauliflower and parsley sauce. Easter Sunday I'm working during the day and am hoping my Mum will do a Sunday Dinner for when I get back then it'll be off to the pub for a few cheeky ones!

Hope you all have a fabulous Easter and enjoy the long weekend!

  1. My great aunt in Scotland makes the most amazing fish dinner on Fridays (she's Catholic so no meat on a Friday) of lemon sole coated in breadcrumbs by her own hand, it's either baked or grilled, with the most amazing potatoes you'll ever taste. Unfortunately the potatoes aren't the most healthy you can get, they are roasted or grilled or something like that in oil but I think she drains them pretty well. They aren't like roast potatoes, or grilled or fried... it's like boiled potatoes that are fluffy and crunchy at the same time. I can't figure them out. She has been eating them all her life and remained slim. Can't say the same for the rest of my family...

Of course she does veggies with the dish too and they're always perfect.

I can't explain it, because it doesn't seem like the healthiest meal but when you put it together it makes for a filling meal that feels like you've had something good for you, you don't feel bloated and nasty like you do when you eat something bad for you. Man, I wish I was in Scotland!

Congrats on the weight loss, I'm crap with weight measurements but that's almost 2 stone isn't it? That's really brilliant! Keep it up!

  2. I wanna go to your Great Aunts for tea :) Sometimes if you have a good meal like that, although on paper it doesn't sound the healthiest you are less likely to snack therefore food intake reduces, well that's how I see it!

I've another 5lbs to lose to hit my 2stone loss, it's annoying because if I hadn't faffed around then I'd be there and possibly past it by now.

    Thank you for commenting.
